14:09 17/07/10 Just visited this pub on the way back from delivering a wedding cake.Very friendly welcome the carvery was amazing never seen so much food in one place.We will be calling here regularly as its only about 10 miles from us.It makes a change to find a local Pub were the food and welcome are exceptional

18:04 14/07/10 Good to find a typical English country pub. The carvery had a lot more than I expected. This in addition to a full menu. My wife had to have the traditional ''fish & chips'' with the ''mushy peas'' And was most pleased. Not being used to British beers I have to admit that I quite enjoyed the barman''s recommendation of the ''Cockerhoop'' (sounds rude to me) I was even given a small glass of it to taste before I decided to order. Friendly welcome, good food, clean environment, will tell all my friends when I get back home.

11:02 05/06/10 Ive visited this pub several times over the last few months. Reading the last comment makes me wonder what the last commentator did, or said, to upset the chef. I''ve only spoken to him a couple of times, & while he''s not a James Martin, in the terms of affability, he''s certainly a long, long, way from being a Gordon Ramsay.

22:58 16/02/10 Having resd many good things about this pub, I thought I give it a try. I can only say thank you to all of the people who took the trouble to recommend it. Booked Sunday lunch, just as well ''cos it was very busy. Excellent carvery means quick service. Good beer too.

16:04 27/10/09 After viewing this pub as "pub of the month" on your website my partner and I had a visit and thoroughly enjoyed it! The carvery is exactly as described!(heaven!!)The pub was very comfortable and had a lovely atmosphere and we were made to feel very welcome by the bar maid who we had a lovely chat with!Definetly value for money and we will be returning!

10:34 24/09/09 Having just read your comments page I felt I should add my own. I visited you on 15/09/09 and found the experiance very enjoyable.Staff helpful and polite. Food beautifully fresh and well cooked.New carpets and fresh paint. Alltogether a differant pub to your other visitors I wonder if we visited the same place.
